Cobalt, square with three rings in neck, eight rings in increasing size on tapered part of neck, 15 further rings on each edge towards the bottom of the bottle, with one plain flat panel and three panels , each with 31 embossed diamonds. Known as a Grimble's Vinegar, these had a clear glass stopper, internally in the top you will see this is slightly ground, which is indicative of this type of closure. 342 mm. 1880s
Very good+. There is a chip at the base corner which is small, about 12 x 3 mm. There is a very shallow, slither chip from under the applied lip downwards, 21 x 5 mm, this could well be from the manufacture due to the odd location of it. There are some minor marks otherwise, but this is a fine example of a beautiful bottle. Grade: 8 Estimate: $750 - 1000
