Chicago / Trade (CFJP monogram) Mark / Fruit Jar. Base Mark: M. Household Preserving Jar Lightning type closure for regular or immerser lid. Standard Aqua. Pint. 133 mm. 1900s
Good. The ground lip has the standard flakes both inside and outside the rim. At the top left next to the seam is a 7 mm fracture which goes along the angle, so is difficult to even see. Jar itself is hazy throughout. It has heavy scratching/scuff marks to it, mostly on the rear upper half, there are a couple of sections on the front to the left and right of the embossing, with a few smaller ones amongst the embossing. Worn around the front base, including over the bottom lettering. Shallow burst bubble to left top area, 4 x 2 mm. Wire bail is rusty. This does not come with a lid. This is a very rare jar in this small Pint size. We did feature an amethyst example in Auction 3, this is the aqua example. Grade: 6.5 Estimate: $200 - 300
