Large apothecary show globe containing original inert orange liquid. This is on an original wooden base. Medicine Chemist Chemist Carboy. Victorian. Approximately 1895 at the latest. Cut glass fluted stopper. Clear. 800 mm without stopper. Stopper is 330 mm. With stopper in place: 1085 mm. . 1890s
Excellent. This important piece is very large and will need to be picked up personally or shipped by professional courier. The liquid in the carboy is original it is not just coloured water. It does not fade, it is odourless and does not evaporate. The stopper has a groove to assist it breath. Stopper is in good condition. A few little nibbles to outer lip and a flake to the upper lip. Condensation to inner neck with some very minor haze. A few scratches. Tiny bit of residue on inside from liquid. Wooden base has some burn type marks across it, possibly from the original wood that it was made from, some stains and deterioriation to the coating.
