Unusual triangular tapered salad oil. Base Mark: Pontil. Goldfields Salad Oil Applied top. Aqua. 7 oz. 175 mm. 1850s
Very Good. Pontil is indistinctive, but textured appearance looks like remains of a pontil to me. Oiled internally. Scrape mark to lip. Surface crazing to small spot below the lip. Polished. Remains of some surface crazing scattered around on inspection. Some scratches. Small impact flake to edge towards the base. Some scuffs and scratches. A little hazy in places. Interesting and early bottle. Grade: 7.4 Estimate: $50 - 75
