Doulton Australian Federation 1901 Jardineire. Pottery Doulton Small jardineire with sepia print and gold leaf, made by Doulton, Burslem. 125 mm. 1901
Good. This had a reserve in the previous auction of $450 and did not sell, it is being listed here with no reserve! Looks great with just crazing and discolouration. Couple of kiln kiss type marks to lower part of bulbous section near base. Couple of flakes under the base. HOWEVER, looks to have been used for some other purpose at some stage by having a hole drilled smack bang in the middle of the bottom. This is about 14 x 13 mm and has been filled. This took out the main part of the Doulton stamp, which has been repainted on as part of the repair. The inner base has been painted over the entire base to disguise this repair. From the repair under the base are three fine hairlines. A lovely piece depicting Queen Victoria, Soldiers and more. Grade: 6.3 Estimate: $$300.00 - $400.00
