Pair of Maughams both embossed: Downer & Co / Adelaide & Port (one in an oval and one in straight lines). Base: H on the oval embossed one. (South Australia) Aerated Water Maugham Applied top. Aqua. 10 oz. 275 & 273 mm. 1880s
Straight line one is Good. Even dullness all over with scratches and scuffs. Some little flakes and nibbles to the lip. Has had baby oil inside but basically dried now. The oval embossed one has some stain and rust marks all around. From under the base and curling up the back about 50 mm are some surface fractures in the glass. Looks like it has been exposed to some heat at some stage. A solid enough pair of bottles. Grade: N/A Estimate: $40 - 60
