Very Good. Quite a crude demijohn, the trade mark is very small on this, with the demijohn being the same size as the lion! Print is big and this one is from Auckland! Glaze flake to upper rear lip edge, couple of other spots of wear through glaze around the lip. Crude pimpled glaze to outer lip. Handle is rusty, but solid. A fair bit of grime around which will clean off. Small glaze flake to front just below print on shoulder. Smaller flake to tan on left shoulder, down and to the rear of this is a larger glaze flake to the left shoulder edge. Right base edge has two glazed over chips from making, one has rust in it. 40 mm fine hairline through the S of Simmonds. Rough feel throughout from making, plenty of black specks to be found. Some discolouration. Some scratches. A few glaze misses. Quite an interesting example. One of seven variations on offer this auction! Grade: 7.5 Estimate: $200 - 250
