White plate embossed with building: Albrechtsburg zu Meissen. Potters mark: (Crossed Swords). Impressed also Q 145 62. Household China White plate embossed with building: Albrechtsburg zu Meissen. Meissen Pottery. 247 mm across. 1815-1924
Good. This depicts Albrechtsburg Castle which is in the middle of Meissen, Germany, which just happens to be the very place where Meissen porcelain was first produced! The crossed swords on this piece were used at the Meissen factory between 1815 and 1924! I would suggest this is reasonably early. 15 x 12 mm chip to underside of rim, part of which can be seen from the front. Some wear to the gold leaf around the outer edge. Some discolouration in places. A little bit of wear to the high points of the castle. Some fine scratches and grime scattered around. A very interesting piece. Grade: 6.5 Estimate: $20 - 30
