Moran & Cato / Merchants / Melbourne. Base Mark: AGM monogram. (Victoria) Household Jar Machine made, screw top. Clear. 1 Pound. 171 mm. 1910s
Very Good. Couple of minor flakes to inner lip. Rim to lower lip where the lid would sit has two chips to the underside of it. Some fine inner haze and a bit of dirt. Two small impact surface flakes to the rear body. Chip to the right rear on the embossed lower rib to the upper body. Another nibbled flake to this same rib on the opposite side of the jar. Usage wear under the base. Some scuffs and scratches. Great embossing, only one or two little impact flakes. Colour is superb on this early example. Quite a scarce jar. This is just a little taste of what is to come from the James A. Lerk collection which we will be selling over the next few auctions. Grade: 7.2 Estimate: $30 - 40
