Medium red glazed cooking pot. Pottery Earthenware Earthenware. Red glaze. Single Handle. Three feet to base. 164 mm. 1400s-1500s
Repaired. Has been in two pieces and glued carefully together without any disguise over it. Large chip to the side rim of 40 x 27 mm has been filled just to finish the shape of the rim. Has seen plenty of use with marks inside and parts of the surface charred from fire. Some chips at the base of the handle, around the feet and little nibbles and flakes elsewhere. But really a glorious piece of early pottery. (From the Ian Mastin collection whose exceptional still life artwork includes many of these pieces - http://www.ianmastin.com/) Grade: N/A Estimate: $100 - 150
