Plain black bottle with original label: (Australian Coat of Arms) / Advance Australia / Rosefield Vineyard / South Australia / Geo. White / Proprietor. (South Australia) Wine Applied top. Black. 26 oz. Label is blue with green and black print. 298 mm. 1860s-1870s
Excellent. George White's Rosefield Vineyard was set up in the mid 1860s three miles from Adelaide on the Upper Mitcham Road at Fullarton. By 1879 Mrs. White is listed as the proprietor as George had passed away at some stage prior, so this bottle is 1870s at the latest, probably 1860s. There is a small impact nick to upper lip. Some grimy spots outside and a few scratches. The all important label is fragile. There is a missing part through part of the coat of arms, and a missing part at the bottom through Proprietor. Some discolouration and spots of wear as well. A fabulous piece of wine history! Grade: 8.3 Estimate: $50 - 75
