15 shells around upper part. Leaves around lower part. No potters stamp. (Lithgow Pottery?, New South Wales) Pottery Lithgow Spittoon. Shell Pattern to top edge. Leaf pattern around lower section. Hole to centre and emptying hole to side. Dark Brown/Treacle glaze. 200 mm diameter. 1900s
Good. From the emptying hole is a 55 mm crack over the top. A 60 mm crack to the side and down to the lower section. Around from this on one of the shells is an impact mark with a 100 mm crack over the top. Down from the impact mark there is a 25 mm and 15 mm crack to the widest part of the rim. A lot of glaze wear and nibbling around this wide part and what looks like a hairline of about 110 mm. General light wear otherwise. Nice piece overall however. Unmarked but attributed to Lithgow Pottery by the owner. Grade: 6.5 Estimate: $80 - 120
