T. J. Purser / T. J. P. with fancy characters around / Rockdale // Bishop & Sons / Makers / North Botany. (New South Wales) Aerated Water Codd Codd original or one way pour. Applied top. Aqua. 6 oz. 193 mm. 1900s
Very Good. Although in the front chamber is a patch of inclusions and around this are small fractures and a bruise that in total are over about 12 x 10 mm. Down under the first T initial there is another inclusion with an 8 mm fracture associated with it. The marble has been poorly made and has nearly disintegrated and is stuck in the cross pinch. There is a tiny fracture around an inclusion near the end of the cross pinch. General light scuffs and scratches. The mould has been changed at some stage and there are two round indents (front and back) in the chamber opposite the teardrop indents. Light general scuffs and scratches. Still a great little bottle. With all the imperfections I think we see why there aren't so many Bishop made bottles around today! (Bottle 10, Page 683 "Thirsty Work", Jones). Grade: 7 Estimate: $70 - 100
