3 Doulton Jugs: All - Doulton jug with applied decorations. Spirits Whisky/Whiskey Dark Brown top on salt glaze body. Raised embossing. 107 - 144 mm. 1890s-1900s
1. Excellent. Couple of small flakes to front base edge. Chip to edge of one of the decorations. Some scratches and minor marks. (8.0). 2. Very Good. Upper rim to rear above handle has an impact nick with a fine hairline from it along the upper rim. Down a little on the inner surface is an associated impact type nick with a horizontal glaze hairline as well. Tiny spot of wear to one of the decorations. A bit of grime around the embossed areas. A few minor scratches. (7.7). 3. Excellent. Some grime that will wash off. The decoration at the front has a couple of darker spots, one is the mans left elbow, and then the right part of the bush beside this elbow. Whilst I am not sure, these may be a couple of small repairs? These decorations do often chip in making, maybe they were fixed when made, or possibly it is as made? It really is hard to tell, but I will grade this as if they are repairs, just to be safe. Still grades well as they are minor marks anyway. (8.0). Grade: N/A Estimate: $70 - 100
