Land Grant with official seal for a parcel of 5 acres of land in the town of Bridgewater to be sold to William Cowburn for forty pounds and fifteen shillings. Dates to 1857. (Tasmania) Ephemera Large framed Tasmanian land grant with Queen Victoria's seal. Frame is about 425 mm high.. 1857
Excellent. Recently framed. This piece has folds. It is stained and has some fading. Sir Henry Edward Fox Young was the fifth Governor of South Australia from 1848 until 1854. He was then the first Governor of Tasmania from 1855 until 1861, which fits in perfectly with the date of 1857. A great piece of Tasmanian history pertaining to a well known entity in bottle collecting terms in William Cowburn of Jolly Hatter fame! Grade: N/A Estimate: $200 - 300
