Big / Tree / Brand. No base mark. Part label to rear, only decipherable word is Oldham. Original seal: "Big Tree" / (Big Tree) / California Wines. (United States) Wine Cork Stoppered Applied top. Chestnut shape. Olive Green. 1 Pint? 173 mm. 1890s
Excellent. We have not removed the seal which is nicely in place, but the lip feels good underneath. Rear label is mostly missing. Some minor scratches and spots of grime. Dimpled effect to glass surface from making. Crude item with a glass swing inside! Well, a piece of glass going across from the side to the base like a bridge. Apparently a Californian company that marketed heavily throughout the World in the 1890s, they were big in London like a lot of Aussie wines were back then, but also made a push into Australia as well with a range of advertising in the day. We have never sold one of these. Grade: 8.5 Estimate: $30 - 50
