Cheese plate and cover. Thistle pattern but apparently also known as either Chrysanthemum or Sunflower. No markings but from Bendigo Pottery. (Votava Collection). Pottery. Bendigo. Wedge shaped Cheese plate & cover. Multi-coloured. Plate 280 mm long. Late 19th - 20th Century
Very Good. (N/A). One of the back corners of the plate has a filled chip of roughly 35 x 12 mm. The other back corner has some shallow chipping around it but on top this is "chipped" but glazed over. Nibbles around the very base edge but there is a shallow 15 x 7 mm chip that is stained to the inner base edge. Stain and crazing. Nibbles and flakes all around the raised decoration to the edge of the plate. The cover has similar marks all around the raised decoration. Stain to the bottom edge. Also inside has some very heavy, dark stained lines in large patches. Only one of these and even then just a small part is visible on the outside at the mid upper part of one of the long sides. Nice item. (Votava Collection). Estimate: $200-400
