Rowlands / Late / Rowlands / & Lewis / Ballarat / & / Melbourne // Evan Rowlands / (Shield) / Registered 6 January 1880 / (Miner & Farmer) / (Coat of Arms) / Trade Mark. Base Embossing: M.G.B.Co around heel, under base: R. (Victoria). Aerated Water. Codd. Dump shape. Hills three triangle type. Applied top. Aqua. 10 oz. 189 mm. 1890s
Fair. (5.5). Large filled chip from the top of the lip down into the start of the neck. Most of this chip is about 12 mm across except at the top and outer edge of the lip where it lengthens out to about 25 mm around here. 28 mm crack to the front right of the marble chamber (this chip and crack are both on the pictorial side). There is another fracture in the marble chamber on the writing side with legs of around 20 and 10 mm. 10 x 7 mm burst bubble just above the cross pinch on this side also. Chip at the base edge over about 14 x 12 mm, this actually looks to be a burst bubble also with chipping around the edge. Scruffy surface, does look like it has had a light polish but still plenty of scratches and the like. Rough example but a desirable bottle and looks ok on the shelf. Estimate: $100-200
