RHC / 1815. Wide round pontil scar to base.. Wine. Sealed. Tall shouldered cylinder. Applied double collar top. Black. 26 oz. 280 mm. 1815
Excellent. (8.1). Some contents stain inside. Grimy around the neck and shoulder. The bottom edge of the top at the front left has a 9 x 3 mm chip. A few scratches and scuffs around. In David Burton's three volume set on seal bottles these bottles were commissioned by Richard Hall Clarke after his safe return from the battle of Waterloo. He probably brought back a barrel or two of French wine as well and needed to bottle it! Estimate: $200-400
