Manufactured / for / J. Thomson & Co / Hamilton (on upside down stamp). No potters stamp. (Victoria) Household, Jar Two tone, tan top, off white body. Impressed. 1 Quart. 172 mm 1910s
Very Good (7). Couple of hairlines to left and rear lip are roughly 40 mm long. Some spots of grime that will clean off. This is heavily stained throughout, it doesn't even look like a two tone jar any more, but the main body is meant to be the standard off white colour of a two tone piece. Some making marks, not sure which pottery this was made at, but it looks like one of the lesser potteries as the style of making is a bit different to the norm. Most interestingly, the badge is upside down on this one. A rare jar from country Victoria, this company had a few different items including an amber ring seal type bottle. This is the first one we have sold. Estimate: $200-250
