Gothic Cathedral square section fancy decorated goldfields era pickle jar. Pattern and design appears to be West Willington glassworks from Connecticut USA. Nice large ground down pontil to base. Goldfields Pickle Square section. Fancy designed arched panel on all sides. Three sides have a fancy design in the top of the arched panel and one side has a plain arched panel. Ring around base of neck. Crude applied lip. Aqua. Looks a little over a pint - quite short but a squat, wide shape. 211 mm. 1850s
Very Good. All over dull/worn finish. Fine scratches over most of the surface. Shallow 6 x 3 mm burst bubble to the middle of one panel. There is an internal burst bubble near the base on one side that has some dirt in it and this same bubble has a 6 mm fracture to the surface of it. Really nice looking early Australian found pickle jar that actually looks great with its all over matt finish. Grade: 7.35 Estimate: $200 - 250
