Hasletts' / Cherry / Tooth Paste / Auckland. Pot Lid Tooth Paste Black print on white lid. Rectangle. 93 x 60 mm. 1890s
Very Good. Face is good and shiny with some light crazing and one glaze flake to the lower right. Some patches of light glaze wear around the face edges. Outer flange has some dull glaze over half of one of the smaller sides and patches along the other edges. Upper edge has the finest of lines right in the middle which may be a very difficult to see glaze hairline. From the underside there are two chips, one on a corner which is 17 x 5 mm, this is a flake type chip. Another flake type chip on one of the smaller sides is 20 x 4 mm. Light crazing to be seen underneath too and some pale grey stain just through the edges and underside of the lid. Comes with a matching base, which has discoloured. Base has two chips inside the flange, which are hidden when lid is in place. Also has some discoloured crazing. Very heavy lid. Grading is for lid only. A nice example of this New Zealand pot lid. Grade: 7.35 Estimate: $200 - 300
