G.P. Milsom / Trade (Elephant within shield) Mark / Launceston // This bottle / is the property / of G.P. Milsom / & must be returned / M.G.B.W.Co. Base Mark: G.P.M. Aerated Water Codd Applied top. Four way pour or Dobson style. Aqua. 13 oz. 242 mm. 1890s
Very Good. Has a fine film of dirt/haze internally. The rear lip has an odd manufacturing mark in the form of a long streak of almost milk glass, travelling over 50-60 mm. There are other crude folds in the glass in the lip. Some scuffs and scratches. There are some fisheyes to be found. Embossing is pretty good, there is a scrape mark on the O and a smaller impact on the M alongside. Small impact with associated flake under the base, 5 x 5 mm. Crudely made bottle, the cross pinch looks angled which seems to just be a quirk of manufacturing rather than deliberate. Nice early example of this particular bottle. Grade: 7.7 Estimate: $75 - 100
