Brittens / Beer / Tamworth. No base mark. Beer Crown Seal Applied top. Deep kick up punt to base. Yellow olive amber. 26 oz. 292 mm. 1900s
Excellent. Superb heavy embossing on a superb, crude bottle. One tiny nibble to lip which can only just be felt. Scratch / fine band of crate wear around the shoulder. Some light scuffs below this on the upper part of the body with some light scratches to be found elsewhere. Very light usage wear under the base, there is a tiny flake to the base under the M of Tamworth. The embossing generally only has very light wear to parts, there is a flake from the N and a couple of tiny flakes to the R of beer. Nicely whittled glass, there are numerous inclusions in the glass, which itself is a wonderful colour, darker near the base up to a lighter colour at the top. These early Brittens are very rare. Grade: 8.3 Estimate: $2000 - 2500
