1 / The Imperial / (English Coat of Arms) / Filter. No makers marks. Household Water Filter Straight sided cylinder. Off white. Slab applied decoration. 1 Gallon. 258 mm. 1890s
Very Good. 12 x 7 mm chip to the top of the lip on the left behind the handle. From this chip comes a crack/hairline that extends over 130 mm down to the start of the top ribbon on the decoration. The tap hole has a 15 x 5 mm chip to the left side. Back base has a three pronged crack/hairline covering a total of 140 mm across and 55 mm on the short arm heading under the filter. Beautifully decorated and nice in this small size. Interesting toggle marks around the jar in two bands, these would indicate the pottery that made this piece, which is most likely an Australian made piece. Displays very well. Grade: 7.05 Estimate: $100 - 150
