"And here's a hand, my trusty frien, / And Gie's a hand o'thine, / and we'll tak a right guid willie-waught, / for Auld Lang Syne." / (Scene of three men drinking with two shaking hands) / Registration Diamond (19th December 1882) / Registered // Auld Lang Syne. Impressed stamp: H. Kennedy / 2 / Glasgow. Late Alen Michael, Mackay Collection. Spirits Whisky Handled stoneware jug. Bristol glaze, black print. Quart. 222 mm. 1880s-1890s
Very Good. Has some repairs around the top of the lip on both sides over a length of approximately 45 mm on the right and 40 mm on the left. Repairs are quite shallow mostly about 2 mm in depth with a deeper 5 mm short section towards the back right. Rest of the jug is superb with hardly any marks. An extra blob of clay obscures the face slightly of one of the men. A little grime around the handle. Displays beautifully and a rare item, especially with the Registration Diamond. Grade: 7.7 Estimate: $300 - 400
