Collect Co-operative / Coupons. Household Pie funnel Ceramic pie funnel. Green print on white. 68 mm. 1900s

Very Good. Some stain and crazing throughout. At the back is an 18 mm hairline leading down to a 10 x 8 mm horseshoe shaped piece that is cracked. Rare and unusual pie funnel, found in South Australia. The Co-operative Stores operated throughout Adelaide and Broken Hill. Their coupon discount scheme created much attention in the early 1900s, there was even debate on "The Coupons Bill" in parliament in 1903. Opposing store owners felt that a monopoly was being created by allowing the Co-operative Stores to offer these discounts whereby great savings could be made, enticing most of the custom their way. This is an exceptionally rare Australian Pie Funnel with links to a very important store which revolutionised business within Australia. This is the only piece of one we have ever seen, this is a must for any kitchenalia collection! Grade: 7.3 Estimate: $100 - 150
