Petalled, pedestal shape. Ground lip. Clear (Flint glass). Hinge mould mark across base. Goldfields Salad Oil Clear (Flint) Glass. Hexagonal base, pinched in to a petal like decoration at lower body. Hexagonal body/shoulder, double ring, straight neck. Ground lip. 1-2 oz. 110 mm. 1860s
Very Good. Has dullness throughout. The lip has a couple of tiny chips but these are quite likely from the time of manufacture. The outer lip is ground, again, this is likely from making. A few other very minor body scratches and marks. Superb little bottle. Quite rare, may have contained perfume or similar and made to look like a Salad Oil bottle of the time. Grade: 7.5 Estimate: $200 - 300
