Blackett's Royal / for strengthening, beautifying and preserving the gums / (Coat of Arms) / Blackett / Chemist, Williamstown / Cherry Tooth Paste. (Victoria) Pot Lid Tooth Paste Domed lid, black print on blue. 79 mm diameter. 1890s
Very Good. The bottom rim you can see a hairline. This goes over the flange and under the base about 25 mm before joining up with crazing. Once it gets past the white rim on the face it cannot be seen, only the standard crazing. At the outer rim where this crosses, a small horizontal hairline can be seen. Most of the gold has worn off of this one. The inner flange has a 16 x 3 mm nibbled flake. Opposite this there was a section over about 30 x 8 mm on the inner flange that has been poorly repaired. Some small spots of wear. A bit of rust, there is quite a bit of crazing throughout, some of which is rusty. Some minor discolouration. Some scratches. A solid example, needs a bit of a clean but will look superb afterwards. This does not come with a base. Grade: 7.2 Estimate: $1000 - 1500
