Austin / & Sons. (Victoria) Pottery Australian Mottled Brown Glaze Bowl. 145 mm outer diameter. 145 mm diameter. 1910s
Very Good. Some flake type marks to outer lip that look to be pottery blowouts. Couple of possible flakes around the lip. Large impurity on the inner bowl from making. At rear next to one of the blowouts is a hairline from the lip down the body, this is exceptionally fine. Superb mottled glaze, the crudity of this piece is great with pottery blowouts to be found throughout. This is most likely from William Austin & Sons who operated a pottery at Brunswick between 1904 and 1935. They produced mainly salt glazed pipes and fittings, tiles, garden pots, urns, crocks, filters, etc.   Grade: 7.8 Estimate: $50 - 75
