Gothic Arch Goldfields Pickle with 6 arches around body. Fancy bulbous shoulder and ring around neck. British Registration Diamond to base: Either 1848 or 1850 - Possibly John Coombs & Son 22nd February 1848. Goldfields Pickle Gothic arch type pickle with bulbous panelled shoulder and fancy neck. Applied top. Aqua. Pint. 213 mm. 1850s
Good. Polished. The glass is still very heavily etched from its time in the ground actually leaving quite an interesting effect. There is a minor 5 mm horseshoe bruise on the top of the lip. A curved 15 mm fracture over the base edge at the bottom of one of the raised ribs between the panels. Still an attractive early Australian Goldfields era bottle and very hard to get. Grade: 6.7 Estimate: $70 - 100
