Large Pigsnout Gin. Base Mark: Pontil. Black Glass Black Glass Applied top, pigsnout style lip. Black. Pontil. 40 oz. 285 mm. 1820s
Excellent. The top is undersized, such a big bottle then it has a tiny lip on it - adds to the character really. A little dull throughout. Some fine scuffs and scratches to be found. Rusty spot of wear to shoulder. A couple of deeper scratches. One or two little impact marks. Couple of bubbles have formed at the surface, not damaged at all, just have an odd texture. Couple of lines under base look like cracks, these are lines of fine airbubbles and are related to the pontil more than likely. An imposing and early gin. Grade: 8 Estimate: $$400.00 - $500.00
