Watson & Young / ~ Prize ~ / Mineral Waters / - Albury - / & Corowa. Round indent to middle of base. (New South Wales). Aerated Water Patent Hogben & Barrett's patent. Applied top. Aqua. 10 oz. 202 mm. 1880s
Very Good. Polished. 3 x 1.5 mm shallow bruise to upper lip. Some scratches to inner neck. Some stain to inner rear. Surface bubble around the IZ of prize. Rear base edge has a series of four or five discoloured fractures which are short and do not go through the depth of the glass at all. Couple of impacts under the base. The base edge looks like it has had some nibbles and small flakes polished out in a couple of places which are a little flattened. Right rear body has a dint, whilst this could certainly be a ground out chip, the irregular nature of it looks more like a making mark in this instance. Scuffs and scratches throughout, more noticeable around the embossing side. Some little fisheyes and minor impacts. A few pitted marks. This has a metal Hutchinson Patent stopper inside, if it was found with this then there are two distinct types, as they are also found with sticks inside. Grade: 7.3 Estimate: $200 - 300
