1. Good. Wear and tiny circular flakes right around the upper lip. The outer lip also has circular flakes which are glaze pops. Around the base edge the glaze has missed giving it a lovely looking effect. Semi large under base flake to left base heel. Most of the remainder of the base edge and underside have small flakes and the odd chip as well. Some minor glaze wear. Impression is light in places. We have never sold this variation with the writing in four lines. 2. Very Good. Some minor glaze wear to upper lip, not even through glaze except for one small spot. A few tiny nicks to shoulder edge. Nibbled, flaked chipping to front right base edge below a natural lump to the pottery. Some nibbled flakes under the base edge below the potters stamp. Some bigger flakes under base heel to left side. Couple of small pottery blowouts. Some minor glaze scratches to be found. A couple of spots of blue under the glaze to the body. A nice one from Caroline Ladd, we have only sold one before which had a slightly different potters stamp. 3. Excellent. Some minor wear to the upper lip. A couple of little flakes to the shoulder edge. Small section of rusty discolouration to the rear body. Small discoloured scuff to the rear upper body. A few scratches and minor marks. Impression is a little weak in places, but generally quite good. A great example, we have never sold one of these before either! 4. Excellent. Some minor surface wear to upper lip with one or two tiny nicks. Kiln kiss to rear shoulder. Some minor shoulder wear. Couple of tiny under base flakes are likely pottery marks. A bit of discolouration to be found. A few discoloured scratches, these are pretty much just on the surface. Little impact through the glaze above the potters stamp. Nice impression on this one. 5. Very Good. A few minor glaze flakes around the lip and some minor wear. Little sliver under base is likely a making mark. Scratches down the body, one looks like a glaze hairline but pretty sure it is in fact a scratch. Several pottery blow outs to the body from making. Strip of scratched wear down the rear which is hard to see, but goes across a large blue splotch under the glaze from making. Similar scratches to the shoulder over an area that also has blue under the glaze. It also appears that this is the first Grosvenor made example we have sold! 6. Good. Similar to the previous lot, although this is 2 mm taller! :-) Small glaze flake to upper lip. Hairline starts just below a small kiln kiss at the rear shoulder and goes right down near the potters stamp at the base edge and then under the base about 30 mm. This does expand out to a crack for some of this duration. Shallow flake with black speck in middle to rear is a form of pottery blowout. Very shiny glaze, there are some glaze scratches. This one looks great on the shelf. 7. Very Good. Yet another variation. Wear through glaze around upper lip with a small flake or two as well. Shoulder wear. Some patches of surface rust. Blowout to rear looks like a body chip, but has a dark spot in middle from an impurity in the pottery. Chip under base heel with a few other flakes as well. Glaze wear to the body with scattered scratches. Impression is quite good. A superb range of impressed Ladd variations, many of which we have not offered very often if at all. Grade: N/A Estimate: $150 - 200
