Three pieces of shipping china from Bay Steamers Ltd. Melbourne. Hotelware Shipping Cup and saucer with a small plate. All white with black print. Cup: 76 mm. Saucer: 144 mm across. Plate: 202 mm across.. 1930s
Cup: Very Good. Some glaze wear in places, scratches and scuffs to be found. A bit of a spotty discolouration throughout. Plenty of grime. Saucer: Good. Three chips to the inner rim. Couple of flakes to outer rim. Plenty of grime. Crazing throughout, a couple are a bit discoloured bordering on hairlines. Couple of spots of stain. Plate: Very Good. Chip to rim at around 7:30. Three nibbled marks underneath are evenly spaced and may well be stilt type marks from making. Plenty of grime to be found. Some wear to the outer rim and to the heel underneath. Some scratches and minor marks. This plate and the cup are marked as being made by John Maddock of England (different stamps). The saucer is unmarked by the maker. Grade: N/A Estimate: $50 - 75
