Pair of Preserving Jars: 1. Mason's / (BGCo) / Improved. No base mark. (New South Wales) 2. The Canton / Domestic / Fruit Jar. No base mark. Original lid has Patd Dec 1889. Household Jar 1. Early screw top jar. Aqua. 1/2 Gallon. 2. Ground lip patent fruit jar. Clear. 1 Quart. 220 mm without lid & 210 mm with lid. 1900s-1920s
1. Very Good. Some flakes around the ground lip, one to the inner lip is bruised. Usage wear under base. A bit of grime in places. Some fine scratches. The glass insert on the lid is broken, but still in place. (7.6). 2. Very Good. Flaked shallow chip to the left rear ground lip. Bail is rusty. Some rusty scratching to the top of the lid where the bail scrapes over it. Some scratches to the front upper left. A few other minor scratches and a couple of tiny impact marks. Nice example of this unusual jar. (7.7). Grade: N/A Estimate: $40 - 60
