Excellent. Unsure of age, but what I do know is this is an amazing work of art. Carved pink soapstone like this is hardly ever seen for sale. I think it is a pheasant, but it may be a phoenix? OK, I don't really know. No apparent damage, this is not one piece, the base has been carved out of a different piece of soapstone to the top. They have been glued together very neatly, I nearly didn't even notice. Grade: N/A Estimate: $50 - 75
