Excellent. Some foxing around the very edges of the mirror but also some dirt and grime. Only minor surface marks. Backing has been changed. Original looking chain on back for hanging though. In 1924 the Castlemaine brewery (Perkins rivals) applied their XXXX brand to a new Bitter Ale. This apparently proved very popular and by 1927 Perkins were advertising Brisbane Bitter Ale in response. However in August 1928 the Castlemaine brewery bought out Perkins creating Castlemaine Perkins Ltd., thus this early incarnation of Brisbane Bitter Ale only lasted a year or so. This mirror is in great condition and outstanding and rare piece of Australian brewing history. Grade: 8.5 Estimate: $2000 - 3000
