T. Ball / Registered / Trade (Bull's Head) Mark / Bulli, N. S. W. Potters stamp: Mauri Bros & Thomson / Sydney / (Star). (New South Wales) Ginger Beer Cork Stoppered Blob top. All tan with black print. 13 oz. 169 mm. 1910s
Very Good. 5 x 2 mm spot of glaze wear to front upper right lip. Another glaze flake or spot of wear to upper right lip is about 5 x 2 mm next to another of only 3 x 2 mm, these are all just through the glaze. Short and fine upper lip hairline from this. Some spots of surface rust scattered around. 3 x 3 mm glaze flake to right shoulder is very shallow and minor, this has rust in it. 30 mm dark scratch to right upper body. A few surface scratches to rear upper body and another near rear base. Tiny glaze nick near the right horn of the bull. Another glaze nick to the left of the badge. Small glaze miss or two. Great condition overall with all marks being minor. Until this turned up recently in New Zealand, these were not known in a blob top. Some conjecture was bandied around instantly that this is in fact a crown seal that has been repaired with a blob top. Having handled this now, I can 100% verify and guarantee that this is as made and original! An amazing bottle, this is the only known example to collectors at this stage. A pinnacle for the ginger beer collectors! Grade: 7.7 Estimate: $5000 - 7500
