Three early Belt buckles: 1. Prince of Wales Feathers with Ich Dien in banner below. 2. Three clovers. 3. Tongue from an ornate floral belt buckle. Sporting Buckle Brass belt Buckles 51 x 54 mm, 42 x 47 mm, 40 x 50 mm. 1860s
1. Very Good. Loop and latch still in place. The right part of the feathers missing, the left part of the banner is as well, so the Latin writing now only says DIE! Woops. Ich Dien translates to I Serve. Some surface corrosion and dirt. The feathers are an attachment which are held in place by two hooks. 2. Very Good. Loop and latch are in place. The clovers are an attachment which are held in place with four hooks. Some corrosion. Maybe a tiny bend or two. Quite a solid example. 3. Very Good. Only the tongue part. Remains of a fair bit of the gold plating. Some corrosion and minor marks. The raised design on the tongue is actually an attachment. From a collection that we are continuing to disperse over the next two auctions. Grade: N/A Estimate: $60 - 80
