Plain "Convict" Ginger Beer. (Fowler pottery, Sydney, New South Wales). Ginger Beer Cork Stoppered Dump. Almost a white glaze. 10 oz. 180 mm. 1840s
Excellent. There is no mistaking this would be a Fowler Figure 8 stamped bottle - just with the stamp missing! 7 x 4 mm area of glaze wear on one side of the top. 5 x 3 mm flake to the other side of the lip. A couple of other even more minor lip marks. Some light body wear. A few kiln marks and the like. Unusual colour. A really nice bottle. Grade: 8.3 Estimate: $200 - 300
