Rustic Australian Desk Inkset. Two blue glass inserts/inkwells. Front piece with little labels for RED and BLACK (very hard to read however). (Found in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales) Ink Inkwell Wooden desk set like a mini version of a roll top desk. Blue glass inserts. 176 mm across. Late 1800s-1900s
Fair to Good. Missing the section that would have rolled over to open/close the front. The grooves can be seen in the sides, where it would have run. Dirty and grimy. Solid but a bit of other water damage at the front. One of the blue inkwells has a crack of 45 mm. Very interesting piece. Looks early. (This was in the last auction with a reserve of $250 - being offered this time with no reserve). Grade: N/A Estimate: $50 - 75
