Thomas Stokes & Co / Trade (Kangaroo) Mark / Bunbury. Potters stamp: Price / 5 / Bristol. (Western Australia). Ginger Beer. Cork Stoppered. Blue lip, off white body. Black Print. Champagne. 10 oz. 203 mm. 1900s
Good. (6.7). Little scratch to lower right lip. 70 mm hairline to rear shoulder from the bottom of the lip down, this has some discolouration in a band along it about 20 mm wide. 15 x 3 mm section of deep wear along this hairline to upper neck at the rear, lower down also over the hairline is another section of deep wear over about 22 x 3 mm. What are these? Not sure, maybe some attempt to repair the hairline that has been half hearted? At least it is at the rear, from the front this looks really good. The print is a little faded. 40 mm scratch to left body ends at the left of the print. Couple of glaze nicks. Couple of short scratches through the glaze. Bit of a chalky appearance. Looks fantastic on the shelf, even then, the issue to the rear is not overly bad. Rare and highly sought after bottle, this is the first we have sold.. Estimate: $500-750
