Mac's Cordial / Works. Hobart // This jar is the property of / J. Underwood Hobart. Potters stamp: Bendigo Pottery / Epsom. (Tasmania). Demijohn. Printed. Blue lip. Blue print. Off white body. 2 Gallon. 375 mm. 1920s
Good. (6.6). Handle has broken off at the rear. A bit of fine wear through the glaze around the inner lip with some small glaze flakes. Some small glaze flakes around the outer lip. The remains of the rear handle to the upper body has two hairlines from it on both sides of it, so four hairlines. The longest is about 60 mm, but very fine for the most part, basically glaze hairlines. Some glaze wear around the bottom outer edge of the spigot. Some more wear to the left of the spigot. Glaze flake to the front face of the spigot on the right. A few other spots of wear and little glaze flakes. Scrape mark to rear base edge is from making. A few spots of wear around the body on making lumps, these are only just through the glaze. A few spots of surface wear as well. Some scratches and minor marks. Great and rare piece. The missing handle does not detract. With the blue lip and blue print, this looks fantastic. This is the first we have sold.. Estimate: $500-750
