Spittoon. Majolica Earthenware. Leaf pattern. No markings. (Votava Collection). Pottery. Spittoon. Spittoon. Majolica Earthenware. Leaf pattern. 204 mm. Late 19th - 20th Century
Good. (N/A). To the inner bowl there are several cracks heading out towards the upper rim. Looks like these were painted over at some stage but showing out now. They all tend to peter out to fine hairlines and crazing higher up. Large filled chip to the outer base rim of roughly 75 x 15 mm. There is a curved line under part of this fill of about 20 mm that looks like an original piece glued back in under the bigger repair. All around the outer edge of the upper rim is a crack/hairline that looks to me like a firing crack where the lid has been joined to the body by the potter, there is a lengthy section though where this is quite wide. Good looking item overall, no idea what pottery it may be attributed to. (Votava Collection). Estimate: $100-200
