Goulbourn / Pottery / Street / Hobart // Warranted / Absorb / Not To. (Tasmania). Pottery. Tasmanian. All Yellow. Impressed. 182 mm. 182 mm. 1840s-1850s
Very Good. (7.5). A little minor wear to the inner edge of the inner lid seat inside the neck. 2 x 3 mm discoloured glaze flake above the Warranted badge at the shoulder, this is just through the glaze. About a 10 x 10 mm dark mark across the T of Hobart to the base edge, looks like a scrape type mark which is likely from making. 4 x 2 mm chip to left base edge, this is small and minor. 12 x 14 mm flake type mark under the heel just around from this is a potters blowout from making. Couple of other small blowouts under the base near this. One or two tiny glaze nicks or flakes to the body. Crazing from making. A few scratches and minor marks. Oh, and there is the stain! As seen, heavy and dark discolouration right around the upper body and a bit around the base edge as well. Now, what were they saying about Warranted Not To Absorb? A fabulous piece in really good condition overall, very rare and early too. This is the first we have sold, don't miss this opportunity.
