J. Parkinson / (*) / Wollongong. Impressed stamp: Bakewell / Sydney. (New South Wales). Ginger Beer. Cork Stoppered. Dump shape. All White. Blue Print. 10 oz. 169 mm. 1910s
Good. (6). Rear lip has been painted, chip to rear base edge has been filled as well, but the previous owner has removed this repair and scraped some of the paint away to reveal the true damage, which we feel is a good thing! The base edge chip is 17 x 14 mm. The rear lip, whilst still having some paint, it is clear to see it was purely to disguise a hairline which runs over about 30 mm. Short hairline to front lip as well. About a 25 x up to 8 mm section of chipping and flaking to the inner left and rear lip. From this along the upper rear lip is a 20 mm nibbled crack type mark with a short inner lip horizontal crack as well. Another short hairline to front right lip. Some spots of wear around the shoulder. A bit of wear around the base edge. Line of wear to upper body near shoulder. Little nicks scattered around. Some scratches and spots of wear as well. A few letters of texta to the rear. A solid looking example of a rare bottle, this is the first we have sold made at Bakewell's Pottery in Sydney. Estimate: $100-150
