HC under the Red Hand of Ulster (on applied seal). Crude pontil to base. (Presumably for Henry Carew, 7th Baronet of Haccombe (1779-1830)). (United Kingdom). Early Glass. Wine. Applied string rim. Applied seal. Tall shape. Black. Pontil. 1 Quart or so. 263 mm. Early 19th century
Excellent. (8.1). Crudely formed sheer lip has some associated nibbles and splits around it. Unusual fold from making to lower front right neck. Couple of shallow burst bubbles, one above the seal, and one below the seal. Another to mid left body and another to upper right rear body, none of these are large or deep. Small scuffed patch to left shoulder. Really chunky and crude pontil under the base has some quite jagged parts to it. Interesting bottle bearing the Red Hand of Ulster, having been made for Henry Carew, the 7th Baronet of Haccombe. Estimate: $300-400
