Bellevue Inn, Pegwell Bay, Established 1760.. Pot Lid. Prattware. Large multicoloured round Pratt lid. No base. 103 mm across. 1860s
Very Good. (7). Looks good from the face with a little minor discolouration. Underneath though the discolouration is heavier with some dark crazing as well. This has been glued in a frame at some stage, a little glue remains to the flange. The underside has some yellowish coloured powdery residue, possibly the result of having been acid cleaned at some stage and not soaked properly, I would suggest giving this a good soaking if you are the winning bidder. A decent example of this great looking pot lid. No base with this one. This is Lid 25 in "The price guide to pot-lids and other underglaze colour prints on pottery, A. Ball, 1970." Estimate: $75-100
