Very Good. (7.4). Handle comes off easily, may not be the original - whatever the case - DO NOT carry this by the handle! Stopper is unmarked. Minor lip impact above potters stamp has a little nick from it, there is a glaze hairline from this over 22 mm along the lip edge, and another down from the impact over only 17 mm. Front left lip has a slightly discoloured hairline over about 30 mm to the bottom of the lip and top of neck only. Near the 2 there is a little impact nick of only a couple of millimetres. Small nick to lower left shoulder. Tiny glaze flake to shoulder edge. A few small spots of wear amongst the badge. The spigot hole has a couple of little flakes to the inner edge and a discoloured line above it which is very minor. The small hole at the bottom of the spigot is chipped underneath it over about 16 x 10 mm. This really is not noticeable when on display. 6 x 5 mm glaze flake to rear base edge. A few small flakes and so forth around the heel are likely making marks. Some scratches and minor marks. Smudging to the badge is from making. A really good example of a rare demijohn, this is the first we have sold. Estimate: $2000-3000
